JP (Naren) activists agitate for civic amenities

Jamshedpur: Jharkhand Party (Naren) activists put up a demonstration at the DC office on Friday to demand measures by the district administration to provide civic amenities to the residents of various bustis in the city.

Earlier, the outfit members gathered at Aam Bagan, Sakchi, and garlanded the statue of Netajee Subhash Chandra Bose before marching to the DC office. A seven-point memorandum was handed over to the DC Dr Amitabh Kaushal by a delegation of the outfit members.

District president of the party Kamlesh Kumar said the residents of the urban parts of the city were struggling with various problems related to lack of civic amenities.

Many city areas are not getting adequate water and power supply. As a result of this, the residents are unable to bear the disadvantages caused by water and power crisis, said Kumar.

The outfit members alleged that lack of cleanliness had led to accumulation of drain water on roads at several places. Threat of epidemic breakout also looms large on such areas, he said.

Among those present during the agitation included the general secretary of the outfit Shailendra Kumar Maithy, Sunita Munda, Heera Mukhi, Meena and Pintu Das.
