Jamshedpur, Feb 5: On the third day of the anti-encroachment drive led by Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee (JNAC) Municipal Manager, Ravi Bharti, a flying squad across various localities imposed fines on nine persons for encroaching government land and collected Rs 15,100 in the process. At Deobagan in Golmuri, the JNAC team imposed fines on people for running business on parking spaces and on footpaths. Some were caught transacting business without permits.
Additionally, fines were collected from persons trading animals on encroached land. Warnings were issued against non-compliance of rules and regulations that included dumping of scrap material and other wastes at public places.
