Jamshedpur: Over two dozens of hutments and roadside outlets were evicted from the stretch of road connecting Mango Bus stand roundabout and MGM Hospital roundabout today.
Officials of Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee (JNAC) and a large posse of police personnel carried out anti-encroachment drive to clear the road stretch from unauthorized occupation. Streamlining road traffic was another objective of the drive.
The police and administration pressed a Poclain to evict the illegal constructions and shops. The officials did not face any protest by the illegal occupants.
It may be mentioned here that such drives had been carried out in the past but the occupants returned to occupy their place soon after the drives were over.
