Jamshedpur: Jharkhand Mukti Morcha is going to organize a grand rally in the city on 15th November against proposed amendments in the CNT Act and SPT Act.
The rally will start at Gopal Maidan, Bistupur, in the presence of party supremo and former Chief Minister of Jharkhand Sibu Soren and executive president of the party cum leader of Opposition in Jharkhand Assembly Hemant Soren.
Many senior party leaders will participate in the rally to raise various issues related to domicile policy of the state government and other tribal issues. This was informed here on Thursday by party leader and MLA Champai Soren in a hotel at Bistupur.
Soren, accompanied by Baharagora MLA Kunal Sarangi, Kharsawan MLA Dashrath Gagrai and district JMM president Ramdas Soren, said the rally was against the present BJP-led state government and its policies.
�The objectives with which the state of Jharkhand was formed have not been achieved till date. State government is working against the interests of Adivasis and Moolvasis. Its only aim seems to be to work for the capitalists. This is why amendments have been proposed in the CNT Act and the SPT Act,� said Soren.
Soren went on to inform that around five lakh people are expected to participate in the forthcoming rally. He said the government should withdraw its domicile policy as it was �anti-Adivasi and �anti-Moolvasi�. He said the party was also going to strongly oppose the declaration of Dalma area as eco sensitive zone by the government.
�The people of 135 villages of Dalma area are in a dilemma as they are unable to take up jobs in local projects. This is because the government has declared the area as an eco sensitive zone. Moreover the thousands of people displaced by the Icha-Kharkai dam under the Swarnarekha Multi-purpose Project have not got their rightful till date. The state government is killing innocent people by shooting them. JMM is also going to raise these issues in the rally,� Soren said.
Gagrai said the CM should first try to revive the ailing industries of Jharkhand instead of visiting foreign countries in the name of seeking investors. He said the Abhijit steel company was shut down for the last five years in Kharsawan. Similar fate was met by Jupiter Cement company. Land owners are forced to go to industrial area in search of daily work, he alleged.
The Baharagora MLA said the people would teach the BJP a lesson in the 2019 elections in case the party did not stop working for the capitalists.
He alleged that the government wanted to amend the CNT and SPT Acts to favour industrialists. He said the people will be forced to take to the streets in case the government did not mend its ways.
