Jamshedpur, Oct 6: The three-day T20 bilateral blind cricket series between Jharkhand and Delhi concluded on a thrilling note at the Telco Cricket Ground, with Jharkhand clinching the series 2–1. Despite poor weather and pitch conditions, the final match was played after reducing the number of overs to 12 per side following a joint decision by umpires, captains, and technical experts.
The match began at 1:00 p.m., four hours behind schedule. Batting first, Delhi managed to score 77 runs for the loss of seven wickets in their 12 overs. In response, Jharkhand chased down the target with one ball to spare, scoring 79 runs and winning by five wickets. With this victory, Jharkhand emerged as the overall series winner, while Delhi finished as runner-up.
The prize distribution ceremony was graced by Chief Guest Dr. Sanjay Lal Srivastava from Tata Motors Hospital, and Special Guest Dr. Arunima Verma, HOD (Surgery), Tata Motors Hospital. Other dignitaries present included Tata Motors Hospital Chief Administrator Partho Mukhopadhyay, social worker Pappu Singh, Vivek Vidyalaya Principal Awadhesh Singh, and former international football player and coach Gajendra Bahadur Singh.
Chief Guest Dr. Srivastava and Chief Administrator Mukhopadhyay presented the winners’ trophy to Jharkhand, while Dr. Verma awarded the runner-up prize to Delhi. Jharkhand captain Sanjeev Kerketta was named Man of the Match for the second day, and Nitish Bara received the same honor for the third day.
The ceremony was conducted by announcer Shyam Sharma, with a welcome address and vote of thanks by Cricket Association for the Blind in Jharkhand President Vivek Kumar Singh. Match officials included referees Shahbaz Akhtar and Lalu Prasad Yadav, and scorers Shubham Kumar, Akash Kumar, and Mamta Kumari.
