Focus on beneficial schemes, seeds availability, distribution
Ranchi, January 12: Preparations have been started by the Jharkhand agriculture, animal husbandry and cooperative Department for the budget for the financial year 2025-26.
During a discussion at Nepal House in Ranchi on Saturday evening agriculture minister Shilpi Neha Tirkey emphasized on giving special focus on beneficial schemes for farmers.
The minister said that the budget amount of beneficial and welfare schemes for farmers will be increased by the department. Along with this, the minister has asked the departmental officials to drop such schemes, whose benefits are very less to the farmers or those which did not prove to be beneficial for the farmers.
Shilpi Neha Tirkey told the officials in clear words that the budget amount allocated for the scheme has to be utilized 100%. The allocated budget amount should not be pending under any circumstances due to the scheme not being implemented on the ground.
“For this, it is necessary that the field staff and officers of the department should be serious about the success of the scheme and ensure that the maximum benefits of the department’s schemes reach the beneficiaries,” she stressed.
She also laid thrust on on seed availability-distribution
In the financial year 2025-26, the maximum emphasis of the department will be on the availability of seeds and seed distribution. For this, a decision has been taken by the department to establish 10 seed villages.
At the same time, the minister also talked about getting the irregularities in seed distribution in Lapung investigated. It is being told that when information was taken from the beneficiaries during the review regarding seed distribution it came to light that there was a big difference between the departmental claims and the ground reality.
During this, many beneficiary farmers also complained about not getting seeds. In such a situation, now the Agriculture, Animal Husbandry and Cooperative Department will determine the scheme-wise amount for the upcoming budget. For this, the report of the number of beneficiaries and the success of the scheme has been started to be prepared.
