Jharkhand Panchayat representatives support bandh

Gamahria : In support of JMM leader Sudhir Mahato ‘s wife Savita Mahato various organizations, many of Jharkhand panchayat representatives also supported the bandh called on Feb 5.

Peeved over the �insult� meted out by the JMM to late Sudhir Mahto�s widow Sabita has left the Kurmi community fuming.

The tribal party took a U-turn to withdrawn the candidature of Sabita Mahto for Rajya Sabha.

�It is a matter of shame for us that Sabita has been insulted. We appeal to the Kurmi community in Jharkhand to come forward and make the bandh a success,� said a worker.

As mark of protest city-based Kurmi Sena has called a Jharkhand bandh on February 5 in protest against the denial of Rajya Sabha candidature to Sabita.
