Jamshedpur, Nov 01: The much awaited JNFF (Jharkhand National Film Festival) opened its IVth episodic Annual Film Festival at the spacious Srinath University Auditorium on Wednesday, November 1 amidst a picturesque setting. According to JNFF founder, Santosh ‘Raju’ Mitra, “JNFF is an annual film festival that celebrates the art of filmmaking and provides a platform for filmmakers to showcase their work. It aims to promote cultural diversity and cinematic talent, particularly within the region of Jharkhand.”
The inauguration saw the presence of noted personalities from the fields of academia and theatre and celluloid domains. The guests included Chancellor of Srinath University, Sukhdev Mahto, Vice Chancellor, Dr Govind Mahto, JNFF founder, Santosh ‘Raju’ Mitra, co-founder Sanjay Sathpathy,
Assistant Professor at Jamshedpur Women’s College, Dr Sanatan Deep, President of Jharkhand Motion Pictures Producers Association, NK Singh, eminent theatre and cinema artiste, Mr. Anuj Kumar, accomplished and award winning film and theatre sensation, Vivek Upadhyay and renowned choreographer, Rohit Mukhi.
The festival promises to be a celebration of the art of filmmaking, with an impressive lineup of films spanning diverse genres to inspire, entertain, and captivate the senses of the audience. The selection includes a rich array of short films, documentaries, feature films that will showcase the immense talent and creativity of filmmakers, both from Jharkhand and across the country.
The official film screenings commenced after a sensational opening with a dance presentation by the students of Srinath University.
The festival’s screenings are scheduled at Srinath University Campus on Wednesday November 1 and Thursday, November 2. Thereafter, the Festival will shift to The Michael John Auditorium in Bistupur from November 3, Friday to November 6, Monday.
