Jharkhand Government to acquire chartered plane at a cost of Rs 90 Crores for official use

Ranchi: In a significant development, the Jharkhand government is set to procure a five to seven-seater chartered plane, with an estimated expenditure of Rs 90 crores. The chartered aircraft is slated to be utilized by top dignitaries, including the Chief Minister, Ministers, and senior state officials.

The proposal for the purchase has been meticulously drafted by the Civil Aviation Department and awaits approval from the Finance Department. Presently, the state government resorts to renting small or chartered aircraft as it does not own any aircraft or helicopters.

The decision to invest in this latest model chartered plane arises from the perceived need for efficient and timely transportation for high-ranking government officials. The fare for such chartered flights is typically determined by the aviation company based on circumstances and availability, contributing to a considerable financial burden on the state treasury.
