Jharkhand Government determined to provide intl recognition to local products: CM Hemant Soren

Hemant inaugurates Natl Khadi and Saras Mahotsava 

Ranchi, December 28: Jharkhand chief minister Hemant Soren stressed that it is continuous effort of the state government to give international recognition to indigenous goods.

“The purpose of organizing the National Khadi and Saras Festival is to provide a platform to the regional artisans to show “we are not less than anyone”. When the indigenous power of the entire country will be on one platform, then only we will be able to take the products made by regional artisans to the country and abroad. Our government is determined to provide global recognition of indigenous goods,” said Soren while inaugurating the Rashtriya Khadi and Saras Mahotsava in Ranchi on Wednesday.

Indigenous products of many states will be seen and bought in this National Khadi and Saras Festival organized at the historical Morabadi Maidan.

“Didis of women self-help groups of Jharkhand have also set up many stalls in this festival where products made from 24 districts of the state will be available for purchase. In this festival, many types of items like food and drink, cots, chairs, beds etc. made by women self-help groups of rural areas and made by artisans are getting a chance to market as well as branding products,” added Soren.

The Chief Minister said that with the aim of strengthening the rural economy, our government is running several important schemes.

“We are continuously making efforts to provide more and more employment to the people. With the Mahotsava, regional craftsmen and artisans are getting self-confidence and respect along with new energy. It is in accordance to the views of the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi, on promoting Khadi and village industries,” said Soren.

Chief Minister said that it should be everyone’s effort to make maximum use of indigenous goods. If more and more people use Khadi in a country with a population of 125 crores, then unemployment will decrease and Khadi can be expanded in a big way.

The Chief Minister said that with time, value addition can be done in Khadi industry also by using new technology.
