Jharkhand: Giridih’s Nimiyaghat in top 3 police stations in country

Ranchi: Union Home Minister Amit Shah awarded Giridih’s Nimiyaghat police station as the top-best police station in the country during the All India DGP/IGP Conference-2024 at Lok Seva Bhavan in Bhubaneswar on Friday.

The Nimiyaghat police station has been recognized as one of the top three police stations in India for 2024 after the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) conducted an annual ranking of police stations across the country, evaluating them on several parameters, including the efficiency in addressing reported offenses.

Odisha’s historic Patapur police station, located in Ganjam district, which has been in operation for 113 years was also awarded with the honour. Both stations have demonstrated exemplary performance, earning their place among the nation’s best.

Nimiyaghat police station earned this recognition due to its exemplary adherence to various parameters, including the behavior of police officers towards the public, cleanliness of the premises, facilities for complainants, fitness provisions for police personnel, accessibility features like ramps for differently-abled individuals, as well as CCTV and fire safety arrangements.

Every year, the Ministry of Home Affairs (Government of India) evaluates police stations across the country based on specific criteria and awards the best-performing ones. Union Home Ministry annually selects police stations across the country for the Best Police Station Award based on various criteria, including crime rate, investigation, case resolution, and provision of quality services to the public.

Patpur police station excelled in all these criteria, making it worthy of the award as the second-best police station. Patpur police station IIC Sabyasachi Malla received the prestigious award along with a citation from the Union Home Minister.
