Jamshedpur, Nov 29: The Symphony School of Music is set to host its annual Western Classical Music Presentation on Saturday, Nov 30, 2024, from 5:30 to 7:30 pm at the Centre for Excellence. The event promises a delightful evening featuring performances of short pieces by musical greats like Haydn, Schubert, Bach, Beethoven, and Mozart, along with contemporary compositions.
Participants include students from prestigious schools such as Loyola School, Sacred Heart Convent, Carmel Junior College, Tarapore School, Jusco School, Church School Beldih, Delhi World Public School, Mount View School, and Chinmaya School. Adult learners and professionals also join in, showcasing their passion for music.
Founded in 2010 with just four piano students under the guidance of C. Perris from Kolkata, the Symphony School of Music has grown significantly. It now boasts nearly 50 students mastering instruments like the piano, violin, guitar, keyboard, and drums. The school prepares students for ABRSM (Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music) exams, with theory and practical sessions conducted both offline and online.
The presentation will also feature a choir from the Irvine Adventist School, Ghatsila, performing their first Christmas carols of the season.
Symphony School credits its growth to dedicated mentors like Theo Fernandes, an octogenarian pianist and violinist from Jamshedpur, fondly remembered by students despite retiring from teaching.
This event is a celebration of talent and dedication, reflecting the school’s ongoing commitment to nurturing the love of music.
