Ranchi, December 26:Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Tuesday alleged that previous governments looted money meant for welfare schemes, leading to poverty and unemployment in the state.
Addressing a public meeting at Simaria block in Chatra district, Soren said his government has “restored” the rights of people.
“When Jharkhand separated from Bihar and our opposition (BJP) got a chance to rule the state, there was a surplus budget. I do not understand how it went into deficit thereafter?” “When we tried to find out where the money went, we discovered that funds meant for welfare of people were looted by the previous governments,” the CM claimed.
Soren asserted that the current dispensation functions from villages, and not from “only Delhi or state capital Ranchi”.
In Chatra, construction work of 800-km rural roads at a cost of Rs 650 crore is underway, Soren added.
Chatra district will get the gift of bypass road in the new year. The process of its tender execution has been completed. Its foundation stone will be laid in January, announced Soren.
The Chief Minister gave the gift of 402 schemes worth Rs 249 crore 80 lakh 30 thousand 527, distributed assets worth about Rs 221 crore 78 lakh among 1 lakh 13 thousand 800 beneficiaries.
The Chief Minister also inaugurated the Integrated Coaching Centre, Block Computer Center and Mining Skill Training Centre.
The Chief Minister said that the government has plans for everyone – tribals, Dalits, backward classes, minorities, farmers, laborers, women, youth. You select the plans you need and take advantage of it. The government tried to make everyone stand on their feet.
The Chief Minister said that Jharkhand will become a 25 year young state in the year 2025 and the government aim in the next two years is to make Jharkhand so powerful that it can be counted among the leading states of the country on its own.
