Jamshedpur, June 16: A jewellery trader from Birsanagar has been reported missing since Monday evening, prompting an extensive search by the police and his family members.
Neeraj Kumar Verma, a resident near Loyola B.Ed College in Birsanagar, left his home around 5 pm on Monday to visit his jewellery shop in Golmuri but never reached his destination. Since then, there has been no trace of him.
Family members said they made repeated efforts to contact relatives, friends and acquaintances in search of Neeraj, but all attempts proved futile. His mobile phone has remained switched off since he went missing.
At the time of leaving home, Neeraj was wearing a yellow shirt and jeans. He is of wheatish complexion and was riding his Passion Pro motorcycle bearing registration number JH05 BU 3259.
When he failed to return home late into the night, his family lodged a missing person report at Birsanagar police station. Police have launched a search operation and are investigating all possible leads. Local residents and acquaintances are also being questioned as part of the inquiry.
