Jamshedpur, April 21: Alarmed by the growing number of criminal incidents in Jamshedpur and its surrounding areas, a delegation of the Janata Dal (United) East Singhbhum District Committee submitted a memorandum to the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) on Monday, demanding urgent action to restore law and order in the district.
Led by District President Subodh Srivastava, the JD(U) delegation met the City SP in the absence of the SSP and highlighted the deteriorating security situation. The leaders pointed out that incidents of firing, robbery, snatching and murder were occurring frequently and fearlessly across both urban and rural areas of Jamshedpur.
They specifically referred to the recent murder of Jharkhand Karni Sena State President Vinay Singh, whose body was found late Sunday night in the Godgoda forest of Baliguma near NH-33. The incident had shocked the residents of the city. The delegation also cited recent crimes, including the murder of a carpenter in Mango and a shooting incident in the Pardih area.
JD(U) leaders criticized the police administration, claiming that efforts to curb crime had proven ineffective. They demanded the immediate identification and arrest of Vinay Singh’s killers and called for the formation of a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe recent criminal activities and dismantle the networks behind them.
Prominent party members present during the meeting included Ajay Kumar, Hareram Singh, Durga Rao, Prem Saxena, Akash Shah, Vinod Singh, Sanjeev Singh, Amrita Mishra, Praveen Singh, Shankar Karmakar, Bablu Kumar, Lalu Gourh, Deepak Gourh, Ashok Singh, Parvinder Singh, Mamta Singh and Shekhar Rao.
