Jamshedpur’s Vishal Kumar Minj becomes International Arbiter of Chess

Jamshedpur, August 1: Vishal Kumar Minj, a distinguished arbiter in state chess competitions, was honored with the prestigious title of International Arbiter by FIDE during the second council meeting held in Azerbaijan on August 1.  Vishal’s impressive track record includes participation in various high-profile competitions, such as the 44th Chess Olympiad in Chennai, the Chhattisgarh Chief Minister’s Trophy in Raipur, the International Grandmaster Tournament in Indore, and the Below 1600 All India Open Chess in Mathura. His remarkable achievements in these competitions served as the foundation for him to receive this esteemed title in the realm of chess.

Notably, at just 28 years old, Vishal is one of the youngest international arbiter in the state, surpassing the previous record held by Jayant Bhuyan of East Singhbhum, as well as Neeraj Kumar Mishra and Deepak Kumar of Ranchi. This accomplishment is a testament to his exceptional skills and dedication to the sport.

Following the announcement of his achievement, State Chess Association Secretary Manish Kumar, Coordinator Prabhat Ranjan, International Arbiter Deepak Kumar, District East Singhbhum Chess Association Secretary NK Tiwari, Treasurer Jayat Kumar Bhuyan, and District Seraikela Kharsawan Chess Association Secretary Ajay Kumar, along with Treasurer Vikram Kumar, extended their heartfelt congratulations to Vishal for this remarkable feat.
