Jamshedpur, Sept 28: Popular All India Radio (Prasar Bharati) anchor and sports commentator Shahid Anwar who recently covered the Asian Cup T20I in Dubai has been assigned to commentate on the 36th National Games – 2022 being hosted in Gujarat. It may be mentioned that All India Radio is the host broadcaster of the premier sporting event of the country. Radio broadcasts will include live commentaries, reporting and hourly updates on events across six locations in Gujarat namely Ahmadabad, Gandhi Nagar, Surat, Rajkot, Vadodra and Bhavnagar. Highlights of the day’s sports, will be aired on All India Radio daily from 10 pm onwards.
Shahid Anwar is the senior announcer at AIR’s Jamshedpur station and is popular among radio listeners for his immaculate commentaries in national and international events both, in India and abroad. Shahid Anwar has been included in the AIR broadcasting team and has been assigned to commentate in various sports disciplines that will be held in Rajkot. Shahid Anwar will be covering and reporting the events in Rajkot. The ace radio broadcaster has done reporting, commentary and coverage during the 33rd National Games at Guwahati, 34th Jharkhand National Games and the 35th version of the national games held at Thiruvananthapuram for All India Radio.
Shahid Anwar, who has covered and reported on more than 20 international sporting events, said, “I see this as a great opportunity as well as a challenge.” The officials of All India Radio Jamshedpur congratulated their colleague, Shahid Anwar and expressed their best wishes to further emboss his name as a radio commentator of repute. The AIR Jamshedpur Centre officials said that it was a matter of pride for them on Shahid’s being selected to report on the National Games – 2022.
