Jamshedpur, July 26: Rakesh Sahu, State General Secretary of the Jharkhand Pradesh Youth Congress Committee, has issued a strong statement criticizing the administration and public representatives for their inaction in non-Tata Steel areas of Jamshedpur that are facing severe challenges due to waterlogging, unhygienic conditions, and lack of basic relief.
Sahu highlighted that the settlements along the river banks were the worst affected, with no relief efforts or sanitation measures undertaken so far. He said that while the common people were suffering amid floodwaters and the risk of disease, the leaders were busy making empty statements without taking meaningful action.
He warned that if immediate alternative arrangements and relief operations were not initiated, the Youth Congress would launch a public protest. If needed, the party would lay siege to the Jamshedpur Notified Area and stage a dharna at the Deputy Commissioner’s office, submitting a memorandum addressed to the Chief Minister.
Calling for urgent action, Sahu urged both the administration and elected officials to take the situation seriously. “If no concrete steps are taken soon,” he said, “the Youth Congress will be compelled to start a strong public movement in the interest of the affected citizens.”
