Jamshedpur: Deputy Commissioner Karn Satyarthi visited Babaida village under Rawatara Panchayat of Dhalbhumgarh block on Monday as part of his block-level field tour. The visit focused on assessing the reach and effectiveness of government schemes and services in the Kharia tribe-dominated village.

During his visit, the Deputy Commissioner interacted directly with villagers to understand their challenges and reviewed the implementation of key welfare initiatives. He emphasized the need for better delivery of basic services in education, health, nutrition, and rural development.

At Babaida Primary School, he reviewed the operation of classes, student and teacher attendance, mid-day meal distribution, and availability of teaching resources. He interacted with students to get feedback on their studies. On discovering that the newly constructed school building lacked an electricity connection, he directed the concerned department to ensure power supply within two days. He also instructed the headmaster to maintain cleanliness in the school premises and ensure regular use of toilets.
The Anganwadi centre, currently functioning in a temporary location, was inspected for its delivery of nutritional food, vaccination coverage, and pre-school activities. The Deputy Commissioner asked the CO of Dhalbhumgarh to identify land for a permanent building and submit a report at the earliest. He also reviewed the attendance of children and functioning of Sahayika and Sevika.
At the Ayushman Arogya Mandir, the Deputy Commissioner took stock of medicine availability, health personnel presence, testing facilities, register maintenance, and the number of beneficiaries served. He instructed medical staff to ensure uninterrupted availability of essential medicines and consistent delivery of health services.
He further engaged with villagers to understand their experiences with various government schemes such as MGNREGA, PM Awas Yojana, Chief Minister’s Pension Scheme, and other welfare programs in the areas of drinking water, road connectivity, animal husbandry, agriculture, health, and education. Issues raised by individuals and the community were noted, and instructions were issued for prompt redressal.
Emphasizing last-mile delivery, Deputy Commissioner Satyarthi urged officials to enhance outreach in rural and tribal areas, ensuring that the benefits of government schemes reach every eligible person.
SDO Ghatshila Sunil Chandra, BDO Babli Kumari, CO Sameer Kachhap, MOIC, and other block-level officers were present during the visit.
