Jamshedpur: The B.P.Ed. Department under the Faculty of Education at Jamshedpur Women’s University hosted a vibrant Freshers’ Day celebration. The event took place at the Smart Audio-Visual Hall of the Bistupur Campus.
The ceremony was graced by Dr. Kishwar Ara (DSW of the University), Dr. Kamini Kumari (Coordinator, Faculty of Education), and Dr. Sajit Kumar Mahto (Head of the Department), along with several assistant professors. Dr. Sajit Kumar Mahto delivered the welcome address, setting a positive tone for the festivities.
The program was conducted by third-semester students Anamika Kerketta and Nanika Purty. The highlight of the day was the talent showcase and the crowning of the new representatives for the 2025-27 session. Sneha Kumari was declared the winner of Miss Freshers, while Geraldine Ekka secured the Miss Freshers Runner-up title.
The celebration featured a variety of cultural performances, including welcome songs and traditional dances performed by the senior students of the 2024-26 batch. Chief Guest Dr. Kishwar Ara and keynote speaker Dr. Kamini Kumari addressed the gathering, encouraging the new students to strive for excellence in their academic and athletic pursuits.
