Jamshedpur, April 29: A woman from Seraikela-Kharsawan reached the office of Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Jamshedpur, on Friday to seek police action against one Gautam Gorai of Mango for allegedly exploiting her and forcing her to undergo abortion.

The woman alleged that the accused, a resident of Road No 2, Sankosai, had exploited her physically after promising to marry her. “When I became pregnant, Gautam gave me a medicine to abort our child. When I resisted this, he burnt my hand with hot oil. I had complained against him to Olidih police six months ago, but a compromise was reached between us. But later, I again got pregnant and asked Gautam to marry me. But he refused and left our rented home to go away with another woman of Mango. Now I am helpless and I do not know where to go,” she said.

The woman said Gautam had befriended her on a social media site.
