Jamshedpur, Jan 18: One Pushpanjali Mukhi of Dhatkidih Harijan Basti, has accused her husband Shiva Mukhi of torturing her for dowry. She has lodged a police complaint against her husband and in-laws in this connection.
Pushpanjali, in her complaint, said she got married two years ago following a love affair with Shiva. Both families consented to their marriage. After a few days of her marriage, Pushpanjali was allegedly beaten by her husband and in-laws for dowry, she told police. The accused husband also threatened to get married to another woman in case she fails to bring dowry. Pushpanjali, who was admitted to MGM Hospital, sustained injuries when her in-laws beat her up on Tuesday last. Bistupur police said they were probing the allegations.
