Jamshedpur, July 7: Parsudih Agriculture Market Committee traders convened a meeting to discuss strategy to oppose the imposition of five per cent GST on pre-packed and labeled food items by the Central government. The meeting was held at the local temple premises. All traders unanimously decided to oppose the GST.
Members of Chamber of Commerce and Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) also attended today’s meeting. Deepak Bhalotia, president, Vyapar Mandal, said a meeting of wholesalers and retailers would soon be convened to discuss further strategy to protest imposition of 5 per cent GST. He said the common man would also be adversely affected by the decision taken by the GST Council.
