Jamshedpur, May 6: Hit by lockdown, a joint delegation comprising members of the Singhbhum Chamber of Commerce and Industry ( SCCI) , the largest trade outfit of Kolhan, Confederation of Indian Industry ( CII ) and ACMA met Jamshedpur East MLA and former minister, Saryu Roy at the latter’s Bistupur residence on Wednesday.
The delegation expressed concern over slump in economy and demanded to restart the economic activity in Kolhan region comprising three districts – East Singhbhum, West Singhbhum and Seraikela-Kharsawan which falls under green zone.
Roy said that the delegation that he will speak to chief minister Hemant Soren CM in this regard and will get back to them.
The delegation was led by SCCI president Ashok Bhalotia. Other members of SCCI included Bharat Vasani, Rajen Kamani, Vijay Moonka , Manav Kedia and Anil Modi.
Though the traders initially welcomed the proactive steps taken by both the central and state governments to stop the corona virus spread and extended full support for the same but now being hit by lockdown the traders want the green zones to be opened in order safe the employments and trade.
� Though Coronavirus has been been declared a global pandemic by WHO. We also encouraged the industry to follow government directives in the difficult time and whole heartedly extended all support to the government and local authorities but now situation is better in Kolhan and the Government must take immediate steps to resume trade activity. We appeal to citizens to be safe and call the official helpline numbers immediately if they experience any symptoms. People should also pro-actively stay in self-isolation if they have recently travelled to any of the affected countries or were in any risk situation. Together we shall meet these challenges and shall prevail� said an official of CII.
