Jamshedpur trader accuses supplier for non-delivery of slag worth Rs 1.29 crore

Jamshedpur, Nov 20: A complaint of cheating worth Rs 1.29 crore has been lodged at the Jugsalai police station by the proprietor of Jalaram Enterprises, Dhaval Kumar Kachh. In the complaint that was lodged on the order of the Senior Superintendent of Police, Faiyaz Khan, a resident of Asansol, has been accused of the cheating.

Police said that the accused now stays in Mango. According to the complainant, the incident took place in 2021 when Khan, owner of Alsifa Mineral Private Limited, had got a tender for collecting slag from Usha Martin and delivering it to Kumar Kachh. In lieu of the slag delivery the complainant has alleged that he had paid Rs 1.29 crore to Khan. However, Khan allegedly never made the delivery.

Kumar Kachh has told the police that when he confronted Khan about the non-delivery of slag consignment, the accused had given him two cheques worth Rs 50 lakh each. But, both the cheques bounced. Kumar Kachh claims that when he approached Khan again, the latter threatened to get him killed and refused to pay him the money.

He then approached the Jugsalai police and also filed a written complaint with the SSP. Based on the direction of the SSP, Jugsalai police lodged a complaint against Khan on November 18.
