Jamshedpur, June 5: Ajay Shukla, a resident of Sitaramdera, accused of stealing lakhs at a wedding ceremony in Ramgarhia Samaj under Sakchi police station, has been arrested by the police.
At the instance of the accused, the police have also recovered the stolen goods. In this regard, Anand Kumar, a resident of Mango Teachers Colony, had given a written complaint to the Sakchi police station.
In-charge ASP City Sumit Agarwal told that on May 30, Anand Kumar’s wedding party was going on in Ramgarhia Samaj hall. Meanwhile, the envelopes and ornaments received at the ceremony were kept in a bag. The bag was stolen, which was reported by Anand to the Sakchi police station on June 1. After the complaint, the police identified the accused with the help of CCTV and arrested him.
The police recovered a gold mangalsutra, a gold chain, a pair of bracelets, a pair of earrings, Rs 51,850, a mobile, a ladies purse and 145 pieces of envelopes from Ajay.
In-charge ASP City told that the accused Ajay Shukla had earlier gone to jail in the Arms Act case from Sitaramdera police station. He works as a private security guard in TSUISL. On the day of the incident, he was returning from work, when he went to eat food at the wedding ceremony of Anand Kumar, going on in Ramgarhia Samaj.
While having food, he found that the envelope and other valuables received by the groom on the stage were being kept in a bag. After this, he did recee and after getting the right opportunity, ran away with the bag. The police have sent him to jail.
