Jamshedpur student’s union official demands repair of dilapidated B Ed building

Jamshedpur, September 3:  A memorandum addressed to the vice-chancellor of Kolhan University was handed over to the Principal of the Jamshedpur Cooperative College, Dr Amar Singh, by Birendra Kumar, deputy secretary, Kolhan University Students Union about the problems since last few days due to non-operation of Computer lab, dilapidated B Ed building and lack of faculties.

It has been 9 years since the BEd building was built. Presently it is in dilapidated condition and with cracks. When it rains there are seepage in the room.  A new building should be constructed at the earliest otherwise a major mishap can take place any moment in the dilapidated building. One floor building should be constructed. The computer lab is ready since last three years, but till date the students have not even touched the computer. All the work is being done from cyber cafe. There was a demand to start it immediately.

The students union leader has also demanded that a common room should be provided for all the students studying in the college.

It was informed in the memorandum that since the CBCS system has been implemented, there is not a single book on the basis of syllabus in the library of the college. A demand was made to take immediate cognizance of the matter. There is a severe shortage of teachers in the college, due to lack of head of the department in subjects like science, economics, zoology etc., students have to face many problems.
