Jamshedpur, August 8: Following directives from District Police Captain Kishore Kaushal, an intensive anti-crime and drunk driving check was conducted across Jamshedpur on Wednesday night. Vehicles were stopped and inspected at key intersections, and breathalyser tests were administered to drivers suspected of being under the influence. Fines were imposed on those caught driving drunk.

SSP Kishore Kaushal and City SP Rishabh Garg personally supervised the campaign, inspecting vehicles in Sakchi, Bistupur, and Golmuri areas. They participated in the checks, which commenced at 9:30 PM and continued for approximately 90 minutes. SSP Kaushal highlighted that this initiative is part of a broader effort to combat crime in the city. Over the past week, more than 50 suspects have been apprehended and jailed, while physical verification of over 350 criminals involved in serious offenses like murder, robbery, and drug smuggling has been carried out.

In addition to the drunk driving checks, SSP Kaushal initiated a campaign targeting drug trafficking in response to recent complaints. The police conducted raids in areas known for drug-related activities, though many of the suspected youths fled upon the police’s arrival. This ongoing campaign aims to curb drug trafficking and enhance public safety.
