Jamshedpur, March 17: A majority of city traders here decided to keep their establishments closed on the occasion of Holi tomorrow. Several traders have also declared that they will be celebrating Holi on 19th March, sources said.
Members of Bistupur Traders Association said they will be celebrating the festival on 18th March. The outfit general secretary Dharmesh Adesara said, “Most of the people are celebrating the festival on Friday. Hence we have decided to keep our shops closed tomorrow.”
Vinay Khurana, a Sakchi-based trader and member of local traders’ body, said, “We have decided to celebrate on 18th March since majority of people are doing so.”
A grand Holi ceremony is going to be organized in Jugsalai market tomorrow. Manav Kalyan Samiti is sponsoring the event. A large number of people are expected to participate.
Meanwhile, Jharkhand government had earlier declared dry day on 18th March. Now an amended holiday notification has been issued by the government, according to which, 19th March will be a dry day.
