Jamshedpur, March 17: East Singhbhum district administration took out a flag march across the city ahead of Holi and Shab-e-Barat.
Additional District Magistrate (law and order) N K Lal and Superintendent of Police (City) Subhash Chandra Jat led the civil and police administration. They walked on foot on the city streets at various places in order to reassure the people about their safety. They said the purpose of the flag march was to instill public confidence in the law and order machinery of the district administration and at the same time issue warning to trouble-mongers and anti-social elements.

“Police are ready to deal squarely with those trying to create disturbance during the festivities. Stringent action would be taken against criminals and trouble-mongers. We will also keep an eye on rash drivers,” said the SP City.
The ADM (law and order) appealed to people to wear helmet while driving and stay away from drink-driving.

According to sources, cyber cell of the district police and various police stations will be keeping watch over social media platforms and loud speaker operators. The officials noted that on March 18 and 19, there will be a ban on playing loudspeakers from 10 pm to 6 am. If it is violated at any place, an FIR under section 188 will be registered. According to police sources, more than 3000 jawans would be on duty during the Holi festivity while traffic police and excise department officials will be jointly carrying out drives against rash driving and drunken driving through breath analysers.
