Jamshedpur: SARPA dharna demanding outstanding payment of honorarium

Jamshedpur, Nov 29: The Social Audit Resource Persons Association (SARPA) staged a dharna at the Deputy Commissioner’s office on Monday, November 18 in demand for payment of long pending honorarium and other issues.

SARPA District President Dinesh Yadav said that due to the irresponsible attitude of the state government, persons associated with social audit of the entire state were organizing protest rallies in Jharkhand on Monday. Dinesh said that the minister and officials associated with the audit branch had been informed of the statewide agitation online. He said that in spite of several rejoinders the attention of the government could not be drawn to the SARPA demands. “This step-motherly attitude of the Jharkhand government has forced us to resort to protests,” Dinesh Yadav informed.

Elaborating on the demands for which this SARPA all Jharkhand protest rally was being organized on Monday, the organization’s District President stated, “Social audit should be included in the realms of social welfare by the state government; honorarium and travel allowance for two years should be paid to the BRP and allied teams and other personnel who have worked on social audit; declaration of social audit unit as independent unit; this unit should be registered, all staff members should be extended the benefit of insurance and other issues. If our demands are not met forthwith, we will be forced to launch a fierce agitation,” Among the large number of SARPA members who participated in the rally were Tapas Bhuinya, Dulari Murmu, Rajkumar Mahato, Shobha Rani Mahato, Shayanti Sardar, Devendra Mahato, Naresh Mahato, Anil Mahato and Anshu
