Jamshedpur, Nov 29: More than half a dozen houses allegedly built by encroaching Railway land in Carriage Colony at Burmamines were demolished on Monday.
Sources said the Railway authorities had got a tip-off about some ongoing illegal construction work over Railway land. The work was almost finished. An order was passed to demolish the illegal structures, sources said.
A team of Railway officials accompanied by Burmamines police carried out the anti-encroachment drive which went on smoothly as no one resisted the move.
