Jamshedpur, February 10: The people of Dalit Basti, who have been settled for years in the Tata command area behind the Bistupur cold storage, are ready to be removed from there.
Regarding this, the people of the area reached the district collectorate on Friday and demanded to be rehabilitated. The people of the settlement protested against their removal.
Actually, there is a plan from Tata Steel to take possession of the said plot. On behalf of the company, the plot was given to the residents.
An eviction notice was issued, but the residents of the colony did not vacate the plot. Basti residents say that for the last 70 years Dalit family has been living here, which Tata Steel wants to forcibly evacuate. In such a situation, where will they go after being removed .
The residents of the settlement have demanded rehabilitation from the Deputy Commissioner.
