Jamshedpur: Railway services in Tatanagar are set to be affected due to scheduled development and maintenance work in the Adra Division between April 27 and May 3. The railway administration has implemented a ‘rolling block’ to facilitate track maintenance, leading to partial cancellations, rescheduling, and route diversions of several trains.
According to the official order, the 68055-68056 Asansol–Tatanagar MEMU will operate only up to Adra on April 28. The service will remain cancelled between Adra and Asansol on that day, although the down service from Adra to Tatanagar will run as per schedule.
Several other MEMU services will also be impacted. The 68090-68089 Adra–Medinipur–Adra MEMU and the 68079-68080 Bhojudih–Chandrapura–Bhojudih MEMU will remain cancelled on April 28, May 1, and May 3. Additionally, the 68077/68078 Adra–Bhaga–Adra MEMU will be cancelled on May 3.
Long-distance services are also set to face changes. The Hatia Express departing from Tatanagar will be diverted via Chandil, Gunda Bihar, and Muri on April 28, April 29, and May 2. Meanwhile, the Kharagpur–Hatia Express has been rescheduled for May 1 and will depart one hour later than its scheduled time.
In a separate development, the 68013-68014 Tatanagar–Kharagpur MEMU will remain cancelled on April 28. The early morning service from Kharagpur at 5:40 AM and the afternoon service from Tatanagar at 2:15 PM will not operate, likely causing inconvenience to daily commuters and office-goers.
Railway officials stated that the temporary disruptions are necessary to ensure the safety and smooth functioning of rail infrastructure in the division. Passengers have been advised to check updated schedules before travel and make alternative arrangements where required.
The series of cancellations and diversions is expected to impact thousands of passengers across the region, particularly those relying on MEMU services for daily commuting.
