Jamshedpur reports six new Covid-19 cases

Jamshedpur, Oct 21: With a single-day rise of 6 cases, Jamshedpur’s Covid-19 tally climbed to 51958 on Thursday, while the death toll due to the viral disease remained at 1058 with no death reported during the day. The number of active coronavirus cases in the country registered an increase, according to the Covid-19 bulletin of East Singhbhum updated at 7 pm on October 21.

Of the six new cases two each were reported from Mango, Sonari and Telco.

The number of active cases has gone up to 21, accounting for 3.06 per cent of the total caseload, while the Covid-19 recovery rate was recorded at 97.93 per cent, the data showed.

Also, 6159 tests to detect the infection were carried out on Thursday, taking the total number of such tests conducted so far in Jamshedpur to 1698407 while the daily positivity rate was recorded at 0.10 per cent. The weekly positivity rate was recorded at 0.01 per cent, according to the bulletin.

The number of people who have recuperated from the disease has gone up to 50879, while the case fatality rate stands at 2.04 per cent, the data showed.

The recovery rate has climbed to 97.93 % while the active cases are 21.

4 positive people recovered of the virus on Thursday pushing the recovery mark to 50879.

So far in Jamshedpur 1706450 samples have been collected out of which 1698407 have been tested and 1646449 have turned out to be negative.
