Saraikela, June 17: Kamal Kishore Bobonga, a police constable posted in the Saraikela district police force, died in a hit-and-run accident near the Hansaudi Petrol Pump morh late last night. He was on his way back to duty from his native village Maluka under Jagannathpur police station in West Singhbhum district after a 15-day leave.
Kamal Kishore, who had recently become a father to a newborn son just 10 days ago, died on the spot after being struck by an unidentified vehicle. The incident has cast a pall of gloom over his family and colleagues in the district police force.
Police took custody of the body, conducted a post-mortem, and later sent it to his native village for the final rites. District President of the Jharkhand Police Men’s Association, Ramesh Padeya, expressed deep sorrow over the incident. The police department has assured full support to the bereaved family.
