Jamshedpur police nab 8 members of burglary gang

Jamshedpur, December 18: The police have nabbed gang members involved in burglaries in houses of Birsanagar and Govindpur police station area of Jamshedpur. In this case, the police have arrested eight members of the gang. 

The arrested accused include Sonu Lohra alias Bhola, resident of zone number 3, Shashank Shekhar alias Shivam Singh, resident of zone number 8, Chandan Patro, resident of zone number 8 (from different parts of Birsanagar), Rohit Singh alias Gabru, Akash Das, Shyam Poddar alias Rahul, Karan Kumar and Baridih resident Aman Mandal. 

In this case, the main leader of the gang is absconding, for whose arrest the police are conducting raids. Giving information about the matter, ASP City Shubhanshu Jain told that there were continuous thefts in the area. These thefts have been done between 24 November to 14 December. However, only four of these cases were registered. 

After registering the case, the police arrested the accused on the basis of CCTV footage. A stolen bike and scooter were recovered from Arvind Kumar’s house following interrogation of the accused. During interrogation, it was learned that everyone used the stolen cash and jewelery to buy brown sugar and get intoxicated. They do not know who sells brown sugar. 

In these, the main kingpin is still absconding. The accused used to do recce of such houses which are closed or in which few people were present. The police have not yet recovered the stolen jewelry. At present, the police are conducting raids to arrest the absconding accused.
