Jamshedpur Police arrests suspect in Padmini Sardar murder case

Jamshedpur, August 19: Kowali police have arrested Rajesh Sardar, accused of murdering Padmini Sardar (35) in Mejogoda, under Kowali police station. Rajesh allegedly beat Padmini and threw her into a well. Acting on a tip-off, Kowali police station in-charge Dhananjay Paswan apprehended the suspect and placed him in judicial custody on Monday.

Padmini’s husband, Dhanpati Sardar, had filed a murder complaint against Rajesh Sardar following the incident. The accused, who had been on the run since the crime, was reported to have been mentally unstable. During interrogation, Rajesh admitted that he had a long-standing land dispute with Padmini, which led him to commit the murder.

Padmini Sardar’s body was sent for post-mortem on Monday before being handed over to her family.
