Jamshedpur, May 5: Massive protests erupted in Jamshedpur on Monday against the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam, with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) demanding the immediate expulsion of Pakistani nationals from East Singhbhum district. The protest, led by BJP Jamshedpur Mahanagar President Sudhanshu Ojha, saw participation from senior leaders including former Chief Minister Raghubar Das, MP Bidyut Baran Mahato, former state BJP president Dr. Dineshanand Goswami and State Minister Nandji Prasad, along with hundreds of party workers and citizens.

The demonstrators marched from the BJP district office in Sakchi to the Deputy Commissioner’s office, shouting slogans such as “Pakistanis Quit India” and “Down with Pakistan,” and carried placards condemning terrorism. A memorandum addressed to the Deputy Commissioner was submitted via the Additional Deputy Commissioner in his absence.
Speaking to the media, Raghubar Das condemned the brutal killing of 27 civilians in Pahalgam, calling it a “blot on humanity.” He urged swift action as per the directives of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah to expel both legal and illegal Pakistani nationals. He also raised serious concerns about the growing illegal Bangladeshi infiltration in Jharkhand, blaming vote-bank politics for endangering the region’s tribal heritage and identity.
MP Bidyut Mahato said, “No Pakistani national will be tolerated in Jamshedpur. Terrorism has spilled innocent blood and India must act decisively.” Echoing similar sentiments, Dr. Goswami insisted on immediate deportation of every Pakistani national residing in East Singhbhum.
Sudhanshu Ojha asserted that BJP would not allow laxity in enforcement. “If the administration hesitates, we’ll take to the streets,” he warned.
Numerous BJP leaders and workers, including Devendra Singh, Chandrashekhar Mishra, Abhay Singh and others, were present during the protest.
