Jamshedpur, April 24: An unidentified vehicle ran over a cyclist on the National Highway 33 near Pipla on Sunday. The victim sustained critical injuries and succumbed at the scene, police said.
Police said the incident occurred in the day time when the cyclist was on his way along the highway. Just then a speeding vehicle knocked him down. Its driver escaped towards Dimna Chowk after the incident.
Police have registered a case against the errant driver and sent the body to MGM Medical College for postmortem examination.
