New Delhi (IANS): The Delhi Police on Tuesday arrested a cab driver for allegedly abducting, raping, and murdering an 11-year-old girl in south Delhi’s Mehrauli area. Law enforcement officials tracked down and captured the suspect within six hours of the crime.
According to police reports, the suspect snatched the young girl around 5:00 AM on Monday while she slept on the pavement alongside her family.
Swift Police Response and Grim Discovery
Immediately after the family reported the abduction, the Delhi Police formed multiple specialized teams to track down the child. Following his rapid arrest, the driver confessed to the heinous crime and led police to the location where he had dumped the victim’s body along the Faridabad-Gurugram Road.
- Current Status: Investigators have successfully recovered the girl’s body.
- Charges Filed: Police have booked the driver under stringent sections for kidnapping, rape, and murder.
