Chaibasa Chamber plans sit-in on April 27

Chaibasa, April 24: Chaibasa Chamber of Commerce and Industries has decided to organize a one-day sit-in at the Chaibasa SDO Office on 27th April in support of its various demands. It has also called on all local traders of West Singhbhum to keep their shops and establishments closed on this day in a show of solidarity.

Removal of the agriculture market tax is one of the major demands of the traders who also demand various facilities for the local trades and businesses.

In view of the upcoming agitation, a meeting of the Chaibasa Chamber was convened today at Sunshine Restaurant in Chaibasa. It was chaired by the Chamber president Madhusudan Agrawal. It was unanimously decided to organize the proposed sit-in from 11 am till 1 pm, Chamber sources said.

The Chamber members said fines of Rs 5000 and Rs 1000 would be imposed on wholesalers and retailers respectively for not joining the agitation. Those not supporting the sit-in will not get any cooperation from the Chamber, they said.
