Jamshedpur: Nishant Agarwal’s eyes posthumous gift to illuminate lives beyond death

Jamshedpur, July 7: On the initiative of Marwari Mahila Manch (MMM) Jamshedpur, the eyes of New Baradwari resident Nishant Agarwal (28 years) who passed away earlier on July 7, were donated with the consent of his parents, Dr R K Agarwal (Paediatrician) and his wife Anita Agarwal at their residence.

Bina Agarwal, MMM Jamshedpur President observed, “The posthumous gift of Nishant Agarwal’s eyes will illuminate lives beyond death. This precious gift will present sight two two individuals.”

This noble cause was facilitated by the President of social organization Roshni, Taru Gandhi, Secretary Parvinder and Dr Vivek Kedia (ophthalmologist). Bina Agarwal, the President of Marwari Mahila Manch Jamshedpur, extended her gratitude to Dr Agarwal’s family, Roshni Sanstha, and Dr Vivek Kedia for this sacred task. She mentioned that the Jamshedpur branch of Marwari Mahila Manch had been running a campaign for eye donation for many years. They have also been successful in facilitating eye donation after death. She reasoned, “After death, bodies are either cremated or buried. Therefore, if after death, we can give light to two individuals, there can be no nobler act than this.” MMM has appealed to all members of society that if such an incident occurred in anyone’s home and they wished to donate the eyes of their beloved deceased, they could contact the President of the Manch, Bina Agarwal (9304833999), Sushila Khirwal (9431952424), and Seema Agarwal (7858016351). “The organization provides all services free of cost. The slogan of Marwari Mahila Manch is ‘Jite Jee Raktdaan, Mrityu Pashchat Netradaan’ (Blood donation while alive, eye donation after death). There are still many visually impaired individuals waiting for such  selfless social workers who, even after death, can give someone the gift of sight,” stated Sushila Khirwal.
