Jamshedpur, Feb 19: Man of the match Murari’s deadly bowling spell and team’s collective effort helped Dimna XI beat Kharkai XI by seven runs in the semi-final of the Media Cup Cricket Tournament organised by Press Club of Jamshedpur at Gopal Maidan in Bistupur.
Dimna XI has entered the final of the tournament to be played on Monday, February 21.
Batting first Dimna XI scored 147 runs for seven wickets. Randhir was top scorer with 66 runs off 48 balls. Ashutosh scored 22 runs off 18 balls.
Kharkai XI’s Devashish scalped three wicket for 23 runs and Imtiaz took one wicket. Kharkai XI managed to score 140 runs and lost the match by seven runs. Devashish scored 44 runs off 23 balls and Chanakya scored 23 runs off 30 balls. In the 11th hour of team Kharkai innings, Dimna XI captain Sanjay Pandey, bowling right-arm off-spin took two wickets by dismissing Chanakya and Abhishek in the same over.
Murari in the 17th over of the innings dismissed Devashish. Murari completely destroyed the Kharkai XI batting order by taking a hat-trick. Captain Sanjay Pandey accounted for two wickets for 26 runs and a run out. Murari took four wickets for 28 runs. The second semi-final will be played between Jubilee XI and Kalimati XI on Sunday. The final will take place on Monday.
