Jamshedpur MP Seeks Restoration of Jallianwala Bagh Express Services in Meeting with Railway Minister

Jamshedpur: MP Bidyut Baran Mahto met Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw today to raise several regional railway concerns and submit a memorandum. He urged the minister to expedite construction of the Barigoda and Govindpur Railway Over Bridges, alleging lack of interest from the state government. The Minister assured him that the Centre would write to the state “one final time” before taking an independent decision.

Mahto also demanded restoration of services cut at Salgajhuri station, improvement of punctuality at Tatanagar and regular operation of the Jallianwala Bagh Express. In this regard, he also spoke to Railway Board ED Vikas Jain, who assured that decisions will be taken after reviewing details.

The MP further requested advancement of three railway line projects viz. Kandra–Namkum line, Chakulia–Baharagora–Budamara line and Chandil–Nimdih–Bodam–Katting line.

He also sought station status for Barkola Halt and demanded that Rajdhani Express run additionally on Fridays and Sundays. MP Mahto also urged the start of Tata–Jaipur and Tata–Bengaluru train services.

The Railway Minister assured him that “all issues will be examined seriously and resolved appropriately.”
