Jamshedpur: The Rotaract Club of D.B.M.S. College organized an awareness session titled “A Second Chance at Life Through Stem Cell Donation for Blood Cancer and Blood Disorders” on Tuesday.

The session aimed to educate students, faculty members and staff about the significance of stem cell donation in saving lives.

The programme was conducted by Ayush Singh and Om Kore, representatives of DKMS Foundation India — a volunteer-based organization dedicated to helping blood cancer and other blood-disorder patients find matching stem cell donors.

Their engaging and informative presentation highlighted the growing need for stem cell donors and explained how a simple registration can offer hope and a second chance at life to patients battling life-threatening conditions.

A donor registration drive was also held during the session, in which students, Rotaract Club members, and staff participated enthusiastically.

A total of 90 individuals registered as potential donors, reflecting the college community’s strong commitment to social responsibility and life-saving causes.

The event was coordinated successfully with the efforts of Rotaract Club moderator Anjali Ganesan and members Diya Pramanik, Pooja Paul and Ankur Kumar.

The presence of College Secretary Sripriya Dharmarajan, Joint Secretary Sudha Dilip, Principal Dr. Joohi Samarpita, Vice-Principal Dr. Monika Uppal, and Administrative Secretary Satish Singh played a significant role in making the session impactful and meaningful.
