Tata Steel UISL MD Ritu Raj Sinha laid to rest

Jamshedpur, Dec 9: Ritu Raj Sinha, Managing Director of Tata Steel UISL (formerly Jusco) and a respected figure in the corporate fraternity, was cremated on Tuesday at the Parvati Ghat in Bistupur.

The 58-year-old executive passed away suddenly on Sunday after collapsing at home with severe nasal bleeding.

He was rushed to Tata Main Hospital (TMH), where doctors declared him dead on arrival.

News of his untimely demise sent shockwaves across the corporate world and the entire city.

Sinha’s family members arrived in the city by Monday evening. On Tuesday, his final journey began from his residence at Northern Town, Bistupur.

Before the procession, his body was kept for public viewing from 10 a.m., allowing colleagues, friends, and residents to pay their respects.

A large number of people—men, women, colleagues, industry leaders, and residents from all sections of society—gathered to offer heartfelt tributes.

Among those present were Tata Steel Vice President (Corporate Services) D.B. Sundar Raman, VP Probal Ghosh, former VP Rajeev Kumar, Ruchi Narendran (wife of Tata Steel MD T.V. Narendran), officials from Tata Steel and Tata Steel UISL, trade union representatives, and leaders from various corporate and social sectors.

Sinha’s cortege, carried on an open vehicle, moved through Bistupur as a massive crowd walked alongside, reflecting the deep respect he commanded.

The procession reached Parvati Ghat, where he was cremated according to Hindu rituals.

His son performed the last rites. Many were seen in tears, expressing grief over the sudden and unexpected nature of his passing.

Ritu Raj Sinha leaves behind a legacy of integrity, leadership, and dedicated service to Jamshedpur.

His contributions to the city and Tata Steel UISL will continue to be remembered for years to come.
