Jamshedpur MLA Saryu Roy stresses on aforestation at Van Mahotsav

Jamshedpur, July 26: The 73rd Van Mahotsav was celebrated at Baridih community centre on Tuesday. Jamshedpur East MLA Saryu Roy was present as the chief guest of the programme.

Roy praised the efforts of forest department in conserving forests and other natural resources. He said preventing deforestation and pollution of rivers would ensure success of Van Mahotsav.

Conducting the programme, Divisional Forest Officer (DFO), Jamshedpur, Mamata Priyadarshi said the forest department has set a target of planting 45,36,219 saplings this monsoon season in order to fulfill PM Modi’s dream of making India a zero carbon emission nation by 2027.

The DFO said work was being done at various levels to achieve the target. Various water reservoirs and sources are being cleaned, she said.
