Jamshedpur: Passengers at Tatanagar Railway Station are once again facing inconvenience as the escalator installed near the Parcel Office on Platform No. 1 has remained non-functional for the past five days. The repeated breakdown of escalators at one of the busiest railway stations under South Eastern Railway has triggered frustration among daily commuters and long-distance travelers alike.

Frequent Breakdowns Raise Concerns

According to passengers, the escalators at the station frequently develop technical faults. Although repair work is carried out from time to time, the facilities reportedly stop functioning again within a few days. Travelers allege that the recurring glitches point towards poor maintenance and lack of long-term technical solutions.

Elderly and Families Face Hardship

The non-functional escalator has caused serious difficulties for senior citizens, women, families with young children, and passengers carrying heavy luggage. Hundreds of passengers who regularly use the escalator are now being forced to climb stairs, leading to discomfort and delays, especially during peak travel hours.
