Jamshedpur, Feb 13: Kalimati XI registered their maiden win on the second day of Media Cup Cricket organised by Press Club of Jamshedpur at Gopal Maidan while Dimna XI advanced towards the semi-finals with second successive win. In the first match of the day team Kalimati XI posted 137 for 3 in 15 overs, courtesy Nisar Ahmed’s swashbuckling 61, Zahid’s 31 off 22 balls and Ranjan’s unbeaten 26 runs.
Kalimati XI captain Raghavendra won the toss and elected to bat. Nisar Ahmed hit nine fours and a six on his way to 61 runs off just 30 balls. Chasing 138 to win, Hudco XI managed only 111 runs for 3 wickets in 15 overs. For Hudco XI, skipper Ratnesh scored 30 runs off 31 balls and Srinivas scored 23 runs off 23 balls that didn’t proved enough. Nisar Ahmed took 2 wickets in 4 overs while Prateek gave only 22 runs in 4 overs and took one wicket. Nisar Ahmed was declared man of the match for his all-round performance. Senior journalist Dr. Sanjay Pandey awarded Nisar Ahmed with man of the match trophy.
In the second match, Dimna XI registered their second consecutive win by beating Swarnarekha XI by 8 runs. Batting first, Dimna XI scored 115 runs for 4 wickets in 15 overs. Abhijeet scored 54 runs in 46 balls while Randhir scored 26 runs off 29 balls.
Pashupati took two wickets for 25 runs. Chasing 116 runs to win Swarnarekha XI managed to score 107 runs in 15 overs.
Dimna XI batsman Rohit scored 36 runs in 19 balls. Amjad scored 12 runs in 14 balls while Abhijeet took four wickets for 17 runs. Randhir scalped two wickets. Abhijeet of Dimna XI was declared man of the match.
